(Gulfport, MS)- CASA of South Mississippi is partnering with Chandeleur Island Brewing Company to host “Cheers for CASA” on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 from 5-8pm at the Chandeleur Taproom (2711 14th Street Gulfport, MS 39501).
“Cheers for CASA on Tuesday, April 2 is a great opportunity for members of the community to interact with our staff and volunteers for an evening of fun at the Chandeleur Taproom. We invite anyone who has been curious about CASA to drop in with friends in this informal setting to chat with us about what it may be like to advocate for children involved in the child welfare system,” says Cynthia Chauvin, Executive Director. “For every Tuesday evening in the month of April, Chandeleur Island Brewery will graciously donate $1 per pint to CASA of South Mississippi.”
CASA’s mission is to advocate for South Mississippi’s abused and neglected children by supporting volunteers who promote safety, permanency, and resilience. The program serves children from Hancock, Harrison, and Stone County by providing a volunteer advocate to gather information about their assigned children and then present a report and recommendations to the court. Volunteers must be 21 years old, be able to pass background checks, have reliable transportation, and be passionate about children & safety. The next training class in Harrison County begins on April 25.
Chandeleur Island Brewing Company will also allow guests to add donations to the end of their checks all month. Every dollar from this effort will go to CASA in the month of April.
