Reflecting on April, Child Abuse Awareness & Prevention Month

We are so grateful for a coastal community that circles around our most vulnerable children. Thank you to the counties and coastal cities we serve who came together to raise awareness by making proclamations declaring the month of April as Child Abuse Awareness & Prevention Month!

CASA Introduces Linda Perkes, Secondary Handler for Remi the Courthouse Facility Dog

At the end of April, Child Abuse Awareness & Prevention Month, CASA is proud to introduce Advocate Supervisor Linda Perkes as a newly ADI-certified secondary handler, who will be able to assist in accompanying children to Harrison County Youth Court. Special thanks to Danielle at Canine Companions in Orlando, FL for spending two days with this crew and for her work training and certifying this bigger and better Courthouse Facility Dog Team!

Our Mission

Recruit, train, and support a diverse network of Court Appointed Special Advocate volunteers to provide abused and neglected children in our community with quality advocacy in the South Mississippi court system and to secure them a safe, permanent, and nurturing home.

All are Welcome

CASA of South Mississippi pledges to recruit board members, staff and volunteers that are diverse and reflect the population and  needs of the children we serve. Opportunities and services are open to all and not restricted based on race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, gender identity and gender expression, marital status, veteran status, physical abilities or national origin.
