Job Posting – Finance Clerk:
CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) provides a highly specialized volunteer service to abused and neglected children who are in the juvenile court system. CASA is a national organization with over 950 local programs across the country. CASA advocate volunteers are recruited, trained, and supervised by program staff members. CASA advocates are the “eyes and ears” of the court in child abuse proceedings. CASA of South Mississippi serves Hancock, Harrison, and Stone Counties.
Under general supervision the purpose of the Finance Clerk position provides administrative and support functions for the assigned office. The position includes bookkeeping and grant management, general office duties, and routine clerical and supervisory work.
This position requires a high school diploma or GED; supplemented by college level course work or vocational training in Quick-Books, supplemented by two years of previous experience and/or training involving grant management office management/accounting; word processing and multiple software applications; preferably in a nonprofit or legal setting; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Skills necessary for success in this position include strong interpersonal, organizational, supervisory, written and oral communication, problem solving, computer/technology, and bookkeeping/grant management. CASA’s Finance Clerk should be energetic, self-motivated, flexible, and resourceful. Most importantly, they should have a sense of mission for children’s issues.
The Finance Clerk position is under the supervision of the Finance Director and is responsible for providing quality administrative and clerical support to the program.
The Finance Clerk position is full-time (40 hours per week). The position may occasionally require evening and weekend work.
