Annually, CASA of Hancock County recognizes one advocate who has provided extraordinary service to the community. This year’s Advocate of the Year is Susan Mumme.
Susan became a CASA Advocate in February 2015. Since that time she has been the voice and advocated for six children. She has also helped create community relationships; is always quick to lend a hand with fundraising, community awareness events, children’s parties, and helping recruit new advocates!
Susan was born in Baton Rouge, but has called Hancock County home for most of her life with her two brothers and sister. She is a Certified Pharmacy Technician at Ochsner Medical Center in Bay St. Louis and has been in the Pharmacy field for over 25 years! Susan is the proud mother to her daughter, Cristina and is an active member of St. Clare Catholic Church. When Susan isn’t advocating for her CASA children or at work, she also serves as a committee member for Relay for Life and volunteers with the Special Olympics.
Susan enjoys cooking large meals for her family and friends, baking/decorating cakes, bike rides along the beach, and catching blue crabs on the seawall.
Please help us congratulate Susan on being the 2020 Light of Hope Advocate of the Year! Be on the look on for the new date for our community awareness event to honor all of our Light of Hope recipients!
